[et_pb_column type=”4_4″][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text”]David Helseth became involved in homeless issues as Pastor of Englewood Christian Church in Yakima. The church housed homeless men during the extreme weather shelter program. He became aware that shelters were important but that permanent housing was the eventual answer. In January 2016, David became aware of the tiny house village concept for chronically homeless and felt that this could be part of the solution here in Yakima, so he called some folks together and that was the beginning of Justice Housing Yakima.

David has lived in Yakima since 1987 and retired from active pastoral ministry in 2014 after 44 years. He has been married for nearly 50 years, David and his wife Kathy have two grown sons who are married and enjoy their two grandchildren.[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column]
